Holiday Season (Nov-Dec) Bible Reading Plan

At the start of June we rolled out a new 2-month Summer Bible Reading Plan. This 2 month outline and commitment worked really well for many of our church people. We had many of you say how much you enjoyed it. Something unique about this particular Bible Reading Plan is that it had us reading the Proverbs every single day.

When that ended, we provided a Fall Bible Reading Plan that covered August, September, and October. We have continued to hear many of you report how beneficial this plan has been for you and your faith. Yes, the plan continues to have us reading the Proverbs every single day. Also, another strength of these Bible reading plans is that it is just a few chapters a day. Instead of the bigger goal being to finish a long plan, the goal here is to consistently read your Bible daily. This plan is truly manageable!

Now we are excited to introduce the next step – the Holiday Season Bible Reading Plan. This plan will cover all of November and December, and it will take us to the end of the year. You can access it here. We also have hard copies available at the church.

There are many strengths to this particular two-month Bible reading plan:

  1. Reading your Bible regularly through the holiday season is such a positive way to strengthen your faith. There are many holiday themes that find their meaning in God’s Word.
  2. Completing a doable two-month Bible reading plan as the New Year approaches is the perfect way to springboard yourself into beginning the new year with a new Bible reading plan. Many people attempt a Bible reading plan beginning on January 1 but because they do not have that practice and rhythm in their lives already they fail to stick with it. If someone can continue in this Holiday Reading Plan, then they will already be in the habit of reading their Bible daily and therefore be able to begin on January 1 with some momentum and commitment.
  3. The Christmas story passages found in the Bible are in this plan. What a delight it is to be enjoying the Christmas season and all of its festivities while also focusing your mind on how God’s Word teaches it to us!
  4. And like the previous plans, this plan continues to read the Proverbs every single day. There is much value to daily looking to God’s wisdom to guide our lives.

I am very excited for November 1 to get here and for lots of us to begin working through this Holiday Bible Reading Plan. I hope you will join in!

Also, it seems this time of year is an excellent time to invite a friend to join you in this Bible Reading Plan endeavor. May the Lord be gracious to us and give us a wonderful holiday season as we seek Him in His Word!
