The Holy Spirit sure does get a lot of attention in some camps, and He does not get enough attention in others.

While teaching through Romans 8, verse 9 brought us to the place of re-visiting what we know about the Holy Spirit. You can see the sermon here.

The Bible is filled with clear teaching of the Holy Spirit, but today I want to share 4 things we know, we know, we know about the Holy Spirit:

• 1) The Holy Spirit will teach you.
In John 14:26 Jesus says of the Holy Spirit “he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”
In John 16:13 Jesus says “When the Spirit of Truth comes, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.”
• 2) The Holy Spirit will convict you of sin.
In John 16:8-9 Jesus says of the Holy Spirit “And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me.”
• 3) The Holy Spirit will point you to Jesus.
In John 15:26 Jesus says of the Holy Spirit “But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.”
In John 16:14 Jesus says of the Holy Spirit “He will glorify me.”
• 4)The Holy Spirit is a comforting presence.
In John 15:26 Jesus calls the Holy Spirit “the Helper.” Some translations say “the comforter” or “the advocate.” In Romans 8:9 the Bible says the Holy Spirit “dwells in you.” The Bible often teaches that God is with His people always.

Lets be sure we are believing what God says in His word. And we know, we know, we know, that God says these 4 truths about the Holy Spirit!
