In this plan, we will read 3 chapters a day.
It is a good balance of Old Testament and New Testament. It is also a solid variety & survey of multiple books of the Bible.
The Proverb of the day will be read every day. This is an excellent habit and beautiful spiritual discipline to implement in to your life. I encourage you to read a chapter in Proverbs every day of your life. And if you miss a day, no worries, just pick up the next day. With this practice, the wisdom of God will fill your heart and mind.
In this plan, over the summer, we will read through all of Mark, Acts, Romans, 1st John, Jude, Isaiah, and all of Proverbs twice.
People are encouraged to read in whatever way works best for them. But 2 suggestions would be: 1) find a time each morning to sit and read all 3 chapters. Or 2) read 1 in the morning, 1 during the day, and 1 in the evening.
I highly encourage you to invite someone to do this along with you. This will help you enjoy it better, and it will also help you stick with it.
If you commit to reading the Bible every day over the 2 summer months, you will be very surprised how much of a blessing you find this practice to be. We are praying God uses this Summer Bible Reading Plan.
